FV433 ABBOT self-propelled artillery 105 mm howitzer.
Manufactured at the Vickers factory in England between 1961 and 1964. The FV432 torsion beam suspension and a differently arranged K60 engine block with a 6.6L Rolls-Royce multi-fuel diesel engine were used for production. The 105 mm. howitzer has a maximum firing range of 17.4 km. Rapid rate of fire 6-8 rounds per minute. The turret can be operated mechanically or by electric motor. The turret carries 40 projectiles, including 6 HESH projectiles Additionally armed with a 7,62 Bren L4A4 machine gun with 1200 rounds of ammunition and smokescreens. Maximum speed 47 km/h., weight 17,7T. Can navigate on water, with tracks on the water it can reach a speed of up to 3 knots. The crew consists of 6 soldiers, four in the howitzer (commander, breech-loader, gunner-sightsman, howitzer driver-ammunition loader) and 2 soldiers in the deputy commander-ammunition preparer and breech-loader in the ammunition truck. Used by the British Army Royal Artillery until 1995.
Only 234 howitzers were produced in total.
